Socialism: The New Age Politics

in #politics6 years ago

Today's blog post and my very first is going to be about the New Age politics that makes everybody excited or rather defensive. It's Socialism you guys! Well, now I sound like an Educational TV Show Host.
Socialism and communism is relatively similar. As, Karl Marx has stated that socialism is the first phase of communism. According to Marx, socialism is the first or lower phase of communism (Karl Marx, 1875). However, as time forwards, the minds of people evolve and celebrate new ideas for the generation.

Socialism can be described as a Utopia like State where the nearly perfect qualities, highly desirable and no what so ever drama. This is an old case of the fairytale. Well, rather not really. Socialism can be achieved and made into a balanced system that helps the citizens live a happy life.

Socialism is an ideology that promotes an economic and political structure that promote equality and seeks to eliminate social classes. Socialism is also known as the workers' movement. Workers who work under the capitalist system got very tired of the never ending cycle of working tirelessly and gaining nothing for their own. The closest example you see is the capitalist system, you see today. Social injustice usually triggers people to opt for socialism. Especially, people who are affected by the economic capitalist system. The unequal wealth distribution, low wage and increasing living cost is one of the reason people in society are starting a movement and creating an alternative system to thrive in the society. Socialism is making its comeback!

One may say, socialism sounds like a fairy tale where everybody gets something. Let's study the common mentality the society has, you got to make it or break it. You got to break through your limits and create something for you to be able to succeed in life to live the life you want. Now, we live in a society that is systematic whereby everybody has a role. The waitress at the coffee shop you go to everyday has a role too. Can we say that "Owh she works as a waitress because she did not well in school or she came from a bad family background". It doesn't matter of her education or family background, she still works as a waitress. Put aside the reasons why. Now we need someone to work at these premises let it be, a coffee shop, or a boutique or even a toilet cleaner. It is fair that everybody who gets a fair and decent amount of salary for them to live. They can be blamed nor they should blame themselves that they get less pay and make ends meet. So now, going back to the common mentality,

Socialism means everybody works and gains something in return to be able to live their life. The distribution of wealth is equal. Socialism support a class-less and a state-less society where there is only the working class. From one side of the perspective, it is understood that socialism supports the self-emancipation of workers allowing workers to also have the right and privilege to live a good life. It is the working class moving towards liberation of the working class to live a life of quality. It encourages collaboration within the society. In socialism people are given a fair share to allow them to be successful. Hence, the citizens will not be economically oppressed.

Most socialist activist came to realization of the socialist idea through reading and indulging in social activities from university days while working with the worker's associations. One famous example, Karl Marx who dedicated half his life writing books on communism. He was basically a journalist who got paid to write about communism supporting the workers movement. However, Karl Marx did not exactly work, there is a contradiction that is simply mind-boggling that a man who has never worked writes passionately about worker's emancipation is odd to say the least. In his book, he has stated that socialism is merely the first step towards communism that leaves a bad taste for everyone when they hear socialism.

However, Karl Marx has stated that socialism is the first phase of communism. According to Marx, socialism is the first or lower phase of communism (Karl Marx, 1875). The society that would reach communism after a long revolutionary process. This is after the successful transition from bourgeois’ institutions to the proletariat’s institutions. This leaves a doubt of uncertainty that communism is something unavoidable when socialism is in play. One to be noted is that, there is no specific blueprint of the communist agenda.

Socialism requires more collaboration and cooperation. Hence, the workers needs to work together to overthrow capitalism and gain political control until the establishment of a perfect “classless society,” there intervenes a period of social transformations which Marx has named “the dictatorship of the proletariat” (1850).
What you see today in American politics with Bernie Sanders especially is the evolution of socialism. According to the organization’s official website, “Democratic socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically — to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. The slow rise of the Democratic Socialists of America.Socialism has come a long way since the time of Karl Marx, Only time and human evolution can tell the growth of this movement.
