There is a recent uproar in Nashville Tennessee over the city's top official, Mayor Megan Barry. This is a sex sandal. This is not new to Nashville when it comes to mayors. Former mayor Bill Boner came on Donahue show in 1990 with a country singer Traci Peel being engaged while still being married. Nashville politics has seen it's monuments like all cities.
What makes this sex scandal so different is it involves the woman as cheating politician, the boss having an affair with under her authority, a man, Robert Forrest, her bodyguard.
It is ironic with all this talk about how men have abused their position of power over women we now have a have a woman in power having an affair with a man that works for her.
This was not a abuse of power but it should not be a surprise how the mayor and the bodyguard found themselves in this situation. Just like the movie "The Bodyguard" the male protector and female protected get involved. What makes it so bad is not that both parties are married but it's the money.
The bodyguard, officer Forest, money went from $60,000 in one year to $157,000 the next almost $100,000 more. Then there are the trips both in and out of the country where Forest was "guarding" the mayor. The bodyguard was getting paid to entertain the mayor while on the clock.
This is the nature of those in government they have no problem spending on themselves and their associates. Once the government steals why do most think they are going to do the "people's work"? Megan Barry demostarted that women in power can fall in sexual scandals and to top it they will get the government to flip the bill, just like any welfare mother.
