Here is a rather naive question. Would not a government shut-down be a perfect excuse for Martial Law? I mean, if they can't pay for Law enforcement, they will have to keep up "Law and Order", right? Or what am I missing. Please educate me...

I believe it's a federal shutdown which doesn't affect the states. I'm pretty sure states or even smaller communities pay for police.

Anything’s possible, they barely try to make up believable excuses for the shit they pull these days. Unfortunately most will accept further erosion of personal freedom. Adam Kokesh sits in a cage and we aren’t rioting.
People are struggling to survive, they’re numb.
As far as “law enforcement” we still have the good old state and local governments up and running. No need for military intervention. But, since when has the federal government cared about what WE need?
