I highly recommend everyone watch this video
Spoken at a Sacramento City Council Meeting, in regards to the murder of Stephon Clark. Stephon Clark, a 22 year old black man (still a boy, really), ran away from the police after they questioned him about breaking windows. The police, stating they feared for their lives, firing 20 times.
Per wikipedia:
According to an independent autopsy, Clark was shot eight times, including six times in the back. However, the Sacramento County Coroner's autopsy report concluded that Clark was shot seven times, including three shots to the right side of the back.
On March 2nd of this year, the Sacramento County district attorney concluded the police did nothing wrong.
The words spoken at the hearing are scathing, and reflect the growing discontent and anger throughout the United States. Not just at the constant murder by police, actions they perform with indiscreet impunity. They are not stopped, are not found guilty. And the verdict everyday is that our lives, the lives of working class people, the lives of black and brown people, do not matter.
We must disregard any pretensions of respectability towards the ruling class. We must not abide by their processes, their rituals of politeness. Our world is dying, and there's but a decade left before climate change is unstoppable. And meanwhile capitalism continues its path towards profit by consuming the very foundation of the planet. And it consumes that blood guarded by legions of the militarized police. Make no mistake: they're coming to a neighborhood near you! If not already there!
Socialism or barbarism. And that's not hyperbole. It's fact.
