Current crisis in Venezuela - First Post!!

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone, today I begin with my first post. It is about my country, Venezuela. I hope you like it!

The Venezuelan situation is a phenomenon that has been growing over the years. Has become international news in the world, not only know us as the country with biggest oil reserves, if not also as the most problematic country in the region. Always I like to explain the situation of Venezuelan classifying in three aspects and speaking a little history: Politic, economic and social.

Starting with the most evident or the most known, the economic crisis. In other countries maybe they ask themselves how a country with so much oil can be going through this crisis, nowadays the economic crisis is due not only to a bad administration of governments, models fail or corruption, it has been developing since the 1910 years when the first oil well was discovered and we became dependent of the oil, abandoning the agricultural sector, which has turned us into a country monoproductor under a rentier model oil. However with this income is maintained a expense public very high due to subsidy of public services, education and the same gasoline.

With respect to the Venezuelan politics, we must speak a little more of history, the politics conflicts have not been given since 18 years ago, all contrary, we must take into account that Venezuela lived many dictatorships before the bad called 5th republic or even the 4th republic, there were hits of state many times, the political crisis was very volatile. After of "El Pacto de Punto Fijo" there was a lot of shock between political parties, excluding others and each watching for their own interests independently of how it impacts on the people, that happened and continues to happen with very different scenarios but with the Same interests, converting the bad definition of politicking and populism into the only ones used when referring to politics.

In terms of social aspect it can be said that is a situation that has been growing little by little, not only by the bad political and populist decisions but by the paternalism employed towards the society, the dependence of the town towards the government waiting that someone else resolve their problems. The shock of ideals, the bipartidism, declaim to the people that think diferent to you, etc.

They are three directly related aspects, each affecting the other. All these factors have led us to what we live today: more poverty, lack of supply, purchasing power, insecurity, bureaucracy, corruption, people emigrating, devaluation, inflation, speculation and everything we can see today.
