Donald Trump and What is Left of the 2016 American Presidential Elections

in #politics8 years ago (edited)

No political system is flawless, not even the set up of the most advanced nations of the world. The 2016 American Presidential election is turning out to be quite unprecedented on several levels. Firstly, there hasn't been a time in modern history where the electorate is being "forced" to choose between two people with "not so good" approval ratings of the electorate like this one. Although other independent candidates are running as well, but at the moment, they are not going to get a look in.

Secondly, never has there been a time when one of the two candidates is totally out of depth in policies, and strategy and the other seemingly experienced candidate is simply unable to put the election to bed because of the feeling of resentment by the american people.

Thirdly, the "gutterness" and smearing has not reached its bottom yet and there is no expense spared to pulling down one and the other.

What is appalling and dangerous in this whole thing is one candidate already crying fowl about the election being rigged in favor of the other candidate, just to have a foot to stand on in the inevitable event of losing the election eventually. As far as Donald is concerned, everyone is conspiring against him, even his own party! In my opinion, it was a great mistake to have allowed him get to this point. People in the party who adopted the "let's wait and see" attitude but could have done enough to support another candidates that would have eventually gotten him out of the race should be beating themselves right now. At the moment, he is all out to destroy the reputation of the Republican party. I believe this election is already won and lost and the republicans are going to lose more that the presidential election . If care is not taken, the senate and the lower house are almost certain to go to the democrats because of the damage they have allowed the "no-so-republican-at-heart" Donald Trump do to the party.

I am so certain he never expected himself to get this far, but he has ridden on the wave of sentiments and anger, exploiting the general mood of the people, and stoking racial division, and at times complete bigotry to gain traction. I will put most of the blame on the media who gave him too much coverage day-in, day-out to gain the popularity and notoriety he now has.

Although there is a saying that you don't count your chicks before they are hatched, I think I can conveniently say this chicken is hatched, and the world will not see a Doled Trump presidency.
