In a ten-minute address on the official YouTube channel, Zemmour announced his candidacy in an unusual way by imitating French General Charles de Gaulle in 1940 when he called on the French to fight Nazism.
Does he have the support of French voters?
People like Zemmour have their sympathizers which has been shown through his earlier activities as some of his books have sold well in a circulation of 500,000 copies.
However, it is difficult to expect that Eric Zemmour, despite the attitudes that provoke violent reactions from the public, may in some way jeopardize the position of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In my opinion, this is just a continuation of the growing right-wing trend in Europe.
