RE: Do we even need government?

in #politics7 years ago

I feel this is a timely question to ask ourselves for this answer may lead to the next phase of human evolution.

Not so long ago, human civilization looked to kings and queens for law and order. Eventually, humans discovered failures in those structures and hence found alternative governing structures such as democracy, institutionalization and even communism to replace them.

Today, it appears humans are arriving at another tipping point again. Cryptocurrencies & blockchain innovations such as Steemit are examples of value bring created and exchanged without the need of a central authority e.g. a bank.

The changes might not be so immediate, but the vector certainly shows that we are heading in that direction. History doesn't repeat... but it rhymes.

Throughout history, inequality has never been completely erradicated. But equality - at least opportunity wise is continuously progressing. And technically speaking, that's all we can ask for.
