Police brutality--Deal with it, crybabies

in #police8 years ago (edited)

Motherfuckers should just be grateful that police give any sort of justification for their actions. They don't have to explain jack shit to you. What are you gonna do? Go use the other police service or get rid of cops altogether? They have a force funded monopoly on protection services free from market competition. They don't like sending each other to their own prisons. It looks bad on the system when a cop goes to his own prison. You understand all that, right?

It's kinda like that time last week when you ordered pizza and the delivery guy shot your dog and beat you up for complaining about it. Because his pizza shop is also a force funded monopoly protected by the system, he'll never spent a day in prison. We understand all this. We are used to it. Fuck, we can't just have a pizza shop on every street corner competing with each other. There would be gang wars and poison pizza! Besides without pizza tax who would pay for pizza? Everyone would starve to death.

This is slightly incoherent? I don't get your point. There are bad pizza dealers so police should be bad also?

He's saying that, when an institution has a monopoly on the use of force, they eventually or inherently become untouchable, as evidenced by the lack of prosecutions against the majority of LEO's.

He compared it to pizza as an analogy to express the backwards thinking that says we should only have one enforcement organization, instead of competing security services that would hold bad actors accountable.

I think. Right?

Of course the whole pizza thing is just sarcasm. Pizza is governed mostly by free market economics. Pizza shop owners are subjected to market completion. They must supply a good product or risk going out of business. Police units do not have to give two shits as to whether or not they do a bad job. Most of the time when they do a bad job they only earn themselves a paid vacation. I'm just trying to explain why having monopoly funded through taxation (force) is a terrible burden on any market economy.

I'm not anti-cop. I just like thinking up ways to incentive police into doing a better job at protecting the public. They like anyone else wake up and work for a paycheck. If you start fucking with their money by forcing them into the market they will respond. At the very least we should be looking at making them financially responsible by threatening their pension funds. Money is a great motivator. We probably wouldn't all be here on Steemit if we didn't understand this already.

The only way to incentivize them would be to allow for competing services. But that'd be too voluntary for the empire
