Friends at the Table

We often hear : "There are no friends in Poker." To me this has become an interesting topic as I play the same people over and over again. I make conversation and I even make friends at the table. But I must admit it does change the way I play. My play becomes more friendly and more straightforward and in some cases this certainly will cost me money. Is it worth it? Do I want to make friends at the table? What happens if I become friends with the whale....? What does this mean to you? Do you make friends at the table? Do you use it to your advantage or are you loosing money by doing so? Happy to hear you guys's thoughts!

My play doesn't change much when making friends or playing with the same group of people at the table. It all comes down to repetition and strategy. De-sensitizing yourself to money is also the key. If the money you are playing with means nothing to you whether you are in a high stakes or low stakes game, with friends or without friends, you will play the same game. I played semi pro online poker for years in addition to 2 weekly live games and a "friendly" low stakes home game. I notice no change in my game however it did take time to get to that level

completely agree friends off the table 😎 just sax to see whe they r gone
