Played any good poker lately? Screenshot 'em and share!
Ahhh poker.... easily one of the greatest games ever invented (in my humble opinion).
I can spend days playing the game, quietly folding until I get that one hand which I know cannot fail... trying to read other players and spot patterns in how they bet and on what.
With the hand above, I took a risk, but it was a good one. I knew it was possible that someone could have had Ace Ace, but insanely improbable... and as you can see I cleaned skinnypete out. I remember being totally amazed that anyone called the big bet I put on, thats for sure.
So as for that hand that cannot fail? Well, they are rare, but they happen:
I was amazed to get full-house on the turn, but four of a kind by the flop? I was a little annoyed that I could not get more people in on that hand, but hey, you can't have it all
But every now and then, you see something just awesome... just so rare that you would almost be happy to lose money to it:
A straight flush! I stayed out of that particular hand, as you can see, but it was a moment of sheer beauty. So much so that I took a screenshot and am now sharing with you guys. While the pot may have been small, the shock was big for me! I once got a straight-flush... once in my ten years of playing this game. I would have paid good money to see the look on mrsjammer's face when it came to the show.
And for my final bit of show and tell:
I am actually really interested to know what you guys would have done, because I was very reserved in this case. It could have been so easy for lagaresy to have one Ace and a pair of something else. While I know a lot of players who would have gone big with this one before the turn, I was terrified of those Aces. Had they not turned up, I may have gotten a bit agressive... but there was always that nagging thought with that hand.
I won it, if memory serves me correct, yet I was glad I played it safe.
So are you a poker player? Got any good hands lately? I would love it if a few other people shared the high-lights of their games and some awesome play that they have come across.
Hope you enjoyed guys
Hey dude. Your quad 8s hand could have been beaten by JT of diamonds :)
Wow... straigh flush would have been soul destroying for me there. You are dead right buddy... I should start thinking of the possibility those coming up considering I saw one last week
I have lost count of the amount of times i have personally hit a Royal Flush online and that does not include other players at my table also hitting the RF.
So it is safe to say that i have seen untold amounts of 'crazy' hands, over time they just become part of the game. Whether one wins the actual hand or not becomes less important and instead ones focus shifts towards gaining maximum value out of every hand.
For instance the last hand you posted was KK, a fine hand pre-flop. To then see a flop and connect with it so strongly, i would ill advise slowing down at this point instead i would head straight to value town. At that point in the hand, on the flop, you are behind to AA, AK and A7, AK is unlikely because you have two K's, so the probability that your opponent holds a strong hand such as any Ace (A2+) or even a pair himself are very strong if he starts calling your bets.
If at any point the opponent raises your bets then for sure there is a small chance he has you beat but i do not think i would fold, hardly ever. It would need an extremely reliable read on my opponent that he never re-raises me without the nuts to get me to lay down the value there.
