My first Pokémon GO week. Not the experience of a lifetime, but still.

in #pokemongo8 years ago (edited)

Today it's a week as i am playing Pokémon GO in my free time. 129 Pokémon collected, a lot of failed gym battles and level 11. Zero USD donated to the game. It's a very satisfying gaming experience.

I've never played Ingress, as it appeared a way too boring for me some years ago, but today i dig the mechanics of GPS/AR games and here's my word: it's the future of mobile gaming. As well as VR, GPS/AR gaming gives you an opportunity to use your surroundings as a game zone, which is not revolutionary (we've seen this technology 10 years ago too), but a fun way to entertain.

See them all!

The funny thing about  Pokémon GO is how you easily spot people playing it. Some of them are hiding the fact that they are playing the game, it's mostly people aged 35-40 years. But most people join other  Pokémon catchers groups, having fun and generally enjoying the game.

I didn't know i had it in my city!

Here's another great thing about  Pokémon GO. As you walk past the PokeStops in search of consumable items, you discover some things that you wouldn't traditionally pay attention to. Some of them have funny names, given by Ingress users before - thank you guys!

Pokémon is better than Tinder.

Yes, that was very surprising. More daily users than the famous "have sex fast" app.

I found another one!

People can still be excited about something that really has no money value in it itself. Like, they cannot sell their 'mons, but the silent competition among the players creates a feeling of a truly great in-city adventure. If people still can be excited about such things - it's great.

That's the main things i understood while playing the game for a week. What is your experience? Share it in the comments below!

My son is crazy about this..its scary

Still better than some things that were popular back in the days. It's all about people, not the game itself.
