Tips are currently in random order and will be categorized soon :)
TIP 1: Go to parks and populated areas with multiple PokéStops
Pokémons can be found almost anywhere in the world, but if you are looking to find a lot you should look at more populated areas in your town or city. Hot spots for Pokémon hunting includes parks & playgrounds. The variation in terrain means you will find different types of Pokémon.
TIP 2: Cover More Ground, Hunt with friends
Pokémons appears for everyone and can be caught by anyone in your location. This means that hunting in groups can be beneficial for everyone, especially for those creatures that are hiding.
TIP 3: Look for moving leaves to find random Pokémon spawns
Fluttering leaves can be indicator on a Pokémon spawn point. If you stay in that location long enough you might have a chance to see creatures that did not appear on your radar map. This is far from being a guarantee but it’s worth investigating.
TIP 4: Pokémon hot spots? Try your nearest parking lot
Are there really hot spots? Well for some reason they love to spawn in parking lots. Just make sure you don’t get trampled by some nicotine addicts needing a smoke!
TIP 5: Catch Pokémons easily by turning off your AR
It’s Awesome!! to see a Pokémon spawn in your living room or kitchen, but with augmented reality turned on it can make it more troublesome to catch those creatures, and it also comes in handy to safe some battery life.
TIP 6: Receive bonuses with Poké Balls
When catching Pokémons the goal is to toss your ball inside the ring around them and then have it land onto its head or nose, make use of the catch bonuses to increase your chances of keeping the Pokémon trapped inside the ball instead of breaking free.
TIP 7: Increase your chances by using Razz Berries and better Poké Balls to capture Pokémons
When you find a rare Pokémon in the wild your normal Poké Balls might not be able to contain them at first, but once you reach level 6 you would be able to use Razz Berries to improve your chances of capturing wild creatures. Later on players would be able to use Great and Ultra Balls.
TIP 8: Find PokéStops by using Ingress
Make use of the Ingress map system where you focus your hunting efforts. Portals on the Ingress maps represents the location of PokéStops. For more on how it work click here.
TIP 9: Improve your egg hatching abilities
If you’re running low on time or struggling with an hangover you can always make a lazy man’s plan. Some say moving you’re phone from side to side on your desk works like a charm, other stranger methods includes strapping it to dogs and even ceiling fans. Although the later is not recommended as you might harm your phone.
TIP 10: Attach lures at your local bars & shops for an easy hunt
For easy/lazy catching you can always hunt for a few Pokémons by attaching lures at your local coffee house or drinking holes.
TIP 11: Smarter use of Stardust and Candy
When you first start out playing the Pokémon Go game it is often very tempting to upgrade and evolve your new Pokémon creature, but it is best saving it for higher level creatures that will be way stronger when evolved.
TIP 12: Evolve Wisely, boost higher-level creatures
When the time comes to upgrade your Pokémon you will notice that there is a level ring around them. This ring shows the creature level in comparison to your own level. When these two are closely matching you will receive a stronger evolved creature.
TIP 13: Choose the right time to use Lucky Eggs
The best time to use Lucky Egss is when you are busy evolving your Pokémon creature. XP is almost doubled when they are active so make sure you get your timing right when using them. Lucky Eggs can be received with level rewards or you can alternatively buy them from the shop.
TIP 14: Earn More XP
Make use of Lucky eggs, they will double your xp gain for 30 minutes. Another method is to fight a gym battle and defeat the first opponent, then hall ass and run. If correctly timed you will receive some experience and you will still be able to get back into the gym to battle once again.
Friendly Reminders:
- Charge your phone & try to switch on Battery Saver Mode when you are running low
Pokémon Go is a bit heavy on the old battery so make sure you charge up before you go on your Pokémon adventures, or alternatively you can also get yourself a handy powerbank.
- Get your hands on a Pokémon Go Plus
This nifty device allows players to receive game notifications without having the app open on their mobile device. Good luck getting your hands on them as of now they are currently sold out.
- Stay Safe, Hunt Safe
Think straight and be alerted in your environment people!! Pay attention and don’t go and look for Pokémons in dodgy places.
