Initially, POINTS will be distributed and traded on the Bitshares network.

A long-term cryptocurrency for good that will be used by people as a gateway into the world of cryptocurrency.
Besides being distributed to social media influencers, POINTS will be given away on Steemit as well.
Both the Beat Battle League and the Community Poker Game hosted by @nicnas and the upcoming Community Casino Blackjack game hosted by @bethalea use/will use Points as an additional reward and way to track rankings.
The Beat Battle League currently calculates Points as the number of SBD + Whaleshares earned that week.
For example, in Week Two of the League @verbal-d won 25 SBD and 60 Whaleshares earning himself 85 points (25+60).
These points are updated every week to reflect the current standings and allow every member of the League to see where they stand in the battle for the championship belt.
Little did they know each Point they have earned so far will be exchanged for a real-life cryptocurrnecy called POINTS.
The exchange will happen on October 2, 2017.
The top three (3) in the standings will have the option to redeem their points for the cryptocurrency POINTS. If you do so, then their Beat Battle League score will be reset to 0 and they can start the climb back up the Beat Battle League Leaderboard.
Or they can keep their points and remain where they are in the standings and try for the ultimate goal of the top spot in the League and a real Beat Battle League championship belt.
For example, if @shakazula is still in the top three on October 2, 2017 then he wil have the option to redeem the amount of points he was earned throughout the weeks of the League for the cryptocurrency POINTS.
If he doesn't redeem his points, then he will maintain his spot in the top three (3) of the leaderboard and continue the climb to the championship.
Season One of the Beat Battle League ends January 1, 2018 with the winner being announced that night.
The winner receives a League championship belt and some bonus prizes.
So Beat Battle League members and Steemians waiting to join the League, the time is now to act.

That would be projection.
When a new product or service comes out, similar to the iPhone, during the pre-launch phase (usually lasts 4-6 weeks), brand awareness is essential for success.
So what you are seeing are brand awareness activities, not monetization efforts.
Monetization is used when you exploit people, places, ideas, or platforms.
And that is what we are fighting with POINTS.

I just saw this post in my feed on my smoke break this morning and knew I had already seen it. I understand brand awareness. I also understand declining a payout for a post that's been copied and pasted from a week ago. Justify it any way you'd like, it's still unscrupulous.
I mean if you read it you can clearly tell the differences.
So like I said projection.
I have learned from the Four Agreements to not take anything personally my friend.

Declining a payout on this post would have accomplished the same goal, and would have even shone a good light on you and points, but all I see is a second attempt to earn on something that didn't do too great the first time around. $8 eight days ago, $50+ this time around.
Like I said this is clearly projection. If you aren't sure what that is, a deep dive on it will help out a lot my friend.
I could care less about post payouts.
You only believe I do because that is what you think about. Like you just said you were on your smoke break implying you work for someone else in a hourly or salary position. So you are still stuck in that mindset buddy.
I am not. Money is just one of the tools the Universe blesses us with to inspire real, positive change.

Will points underlying technology be its own blockchain, or will it be a usecase on another blockchain like Ethereum or some other?
It will start off on Bitshares but you touched on the other things we are doing at the same time :)
