Lest We Forget
I remember the living I remember the dead I stand here in silence With my poppy of red I think of the people Who live without fear Because of the fallen Who fought through the years I remember the soldiers Who left children and wives Fighting the wars So we could survive I stand at the cenotaph With the young and the old Remembering my Grandad And stories he told The things he endured The friends that he lost The bravery of soldiers Who fought at all cost I remember the grieving The tears that they cried As I look at the crowds My heart swells with pride United we stand With those never met Wearing our poppies Lest we forget.
