MY NIECE IS A MONTH OLDER: MY SISTER'S POEM TO HER.

She stirred
I paused the world and watched her...
Silently hoping she'll go back to sleep
Yet also silently hoping that she'll wake up
So I can carry her...
And lull her back to sleep.

She whimpered
I crossed seven seas to soothe her.
Fighting her demons for her.
Although right now they are quite limited.
Just hunger, sleep and nappy rash.

She cried
I laid down my life for her.
Fighting tooth and nail to take her tears away...
Tooth being hunger.
Nail being a full diaper.

She slept
I watched over her.
And wondered.
What could this be?
This surging of emotions?
This fierce need to protect?
This overflowing patience?
This understanding of fragilities?

And my heart told me
'It is love. Pure, unbridled, raw'

A LITTLE ABOUT HER

So today is her seventh month. She's my first niece (so she's a big deal). Weighed 4.5kg at her birth and eats like a young brontosaurus.

She's also a fan of the movie "Boss baby".

They both are bossy. Don't tell her I said so

She mostly oohs and aahs, I don't know if that can count as talking though. And she crawls funny!

She's probably going to be a wrestler when she grows up.
