purging guilt

Who says you fucked up
if you didn’t get caught?
Crime exists
completely in the mind
of the victim.

Without objection,
there is no crime.

The sinner with a conscience
suffers the untennable position
of knowing what he does is wrong
and doing it anyways.
We are a contradiction of our own natures.
How is it that we will determine
a right from a wrong
and judge behaviors accordingly?
How is it that we do the things
that we detest?

Are we insane?
Is there more going on
than we allow ourselves to perceive?
Are we fulfilling our subconscious fears?
Do we envision the trials and terrors
of our actions in order to cause them?

Why the surprise when we’re caught.

Do we love anything or anyone
if we can lose the love
upon judging the actions of the lover?

If a tree falls in the woods
and cuts a man in half,
doesn’t that man become
mere meat?

Beautiful poem. We can share our thoughts through poem. What ever in our mind. And it sounds nice for everyone. I also sometimes post some poem and I feel happy thank you for sharing your thoughts through your beautiful poem.

Thanks for going there with me. I love it when a muse finds another amused! lol
BTW: I find the most interesting aspect of the piece is the statement about how we fall "out" of love when our lover disappoints our expectation. Does that negate the love from scratch? People are so very quick to condemn - yet true love is unconditional - at least thats the theory.
