RE: Poem titled : THE CRY OF AN AFRICAN CHILD

in #poetry6 years ago

Why using that picture? Africans are strong people. They are found every where. They are warriors and sold their own people and neighbors as slaves, long after slavery was forbidden. They still abuse their own children to beg, scam, etc.

You can envy others, blame others, or start building your own life.

Those words sound too strong and raw. In fact I consider them degrading and maybe even defamatory.Hey dear @wakeupkitty.

I do not know many aspects of life in Africa, but I think that generalizing is never the best way to proceed.

I understand that the human being arrives at improbable behaviors. Once I found out about a population in India where polio cases abound. So these people are the ones chosen to smuggle gasoline or something like that. In other words, their physical condition is exploited for dishonest purposes. Not for this reason can we "label" all the citizens of India.

In Venezuela, more and more atrocious crimes occur. We see cases where the Venezuelans themselves exploit and obtain profit from the misery of their brothers. But not all Venezuelans are like that.

I'm sure you understand my point.

I appreciate you.

I understand your point but I am sure you understand my point too if I tell you I offered several young people to buy them a piece of ground to work on. Their answer: working on the ground is for old people.

Next I offered to buy them a shop to make an income. I even was willing to transport a good quality of clothes. Their answer: it is something for elderly people (but they do envy the people from India who work hard and own the shops and pharmacies).

Their were only 2 things they wanted:

  1. a car
  2. To marry to get a visa to Europe.
