Just The Way He Was

in #poetry7 years ago

Like thunder he struck,
Along he brought a storm with him.

Like the flower, he blossomed ;
Giving rise to a lover's desire.

Like the stars he twinkled,
Guiding the traveller to his destination.
Like a thought he passed,
Along he brought a million memories.

Like sugar he dissolved,
Bringing sweetness to my bitter life.

Like a bird he flew,
Reaching new heights with passing minute.

Like the sun he shone,
Bringing warmth to my stone cold heart.

Like music he soothed,
Bringing peace to the restless soul.

Like the tears he fell,
Narrating the story of a broken heart.

Like the morning prayer he was pure,
Giving second chances even to the sinners.

Like a puzzle he was complex,
Challenging the mind at each step.

Like the wind did to the sail,
He gave a direction to my life.

Like a good book he could be read,
The one which excites you with each sentence.

Like the smile on my face he formed,
Stealing away my never ending sorrows.

Like magic he was an illusion,
Which I knew was too good to be true.

Like the sunset he was enchanting,
Reminding me always that endings are beautiful.
Like the dream he was a lie,
Forcing me to hope for the impossible.
Like a lost lover's kiss he lasted,
Igniting the sparks of passion in me.

Like the death he was silent,
Silence that sent chills down my spine.

Finally, like the last dance he ended,
And left me craving for more.
