We shared a car ride
underneath an orange moon
The four of us drunk
buzzing, alive.
All of one mind, we flew down dirt roads
In the country of Colorado
Nowhere to be found.
I didn't care about the end
All I saw were beginnings
Beginnings everywhere, up for grabs...
Warm August night
rushed in through the windows
Warm blue stars
twinkled above
huge landscapes, big black mountains.
As we slipped around each corner
Nowhere to be found.
Packed together
we drove
in search of the magic
that steals your soul
Our selves as we knew them before,
lost to the wild sage
and rhythm of the road.
