With him

in #poetry8 years ago

Sit back and hear me
I'll tell you a story
How the sun wouldn't shine
Every night
Just to let the moon breathe

And she would cry
Tears like stars in the sky
And she's shine so bright
Bring him back to life
And make things right

And to his dismay
He'd lose her at day
His light covered her shades
Of lightly drawn grey
Crossing dark space
And he was afraid
He'd never see her face
Again

Clouds in the way
Would block out her face
Just before the end
Breathing back in
She'd fade

He'd hold his breath tightly
To see her nightly
If he breathed to soon
He knew he would lose
Ever thing he was trying to see

Then can the day
The eclipse came
The earth got in the way
A shadow covered his rays
How could so many things separate

At night he stops shining
But a new moons arriving
He's left crying - alone
She's in the dark dying
To see him shine brightly
But clouds cover, fighting them - both
To block out his lighting
Next time there's a sighting
Of her right beside him - he spoke

"I'd gladly die for you"
The sun whispers to the moon
"The earth and the stars
I don't care who they are
They'll be fine
They're not mine"
Taking in a breath
Waiting for death
So she can live
But she stops him
"I've been living in sorrow
Wondering will I see you tomorrow
But that's just the life I will live
With him
