Altogether Break
After All Hallows
Uneven rows of corn struck down before dawn
light. The Rooster wakes suddenly
from a nightmare. The
fields having been left
to die. Reaped sheaves
strewn at the gate, as the sun rises:
This is the plan of plans
A harvest of fear and plague
correlated like a gun to the head,
as if in payment and all the seeds, the silver and gold
will not save us. Crying ‘Why should we fear
under such guardians? Those who keep
us in all our ways can neither be over-
come nor be deceived, much less deceive'.
There was a lot of interesting images in this piece. It had a very apocalyptic feel to me. You painted a picture which, to me, left a lot unsaid but at the same time sparked a lot of thought. Good work.
