The Poetry Den - Volume 1

in #poetry8 years ago (edited)

Every once in a while, I have the creative urge to write a poem. This is something I had, ever since I was a little kid. No specfic genre or rhyme scheme, no favourite subject. Just writing down, whatever comes to mind. It seemed like a fun idea, to share these poems with you. For inspiration, for fun, for whatever reason. Please let me know in the comment section below, what you think of this first one:

Flower

Beautiful flower, within the field
the yellow sun from which you yield
The energy to shine as bright,
as the colors you unite
Your inner beauty is revealed.

For the bud from which you came,
could not hide you out of shame
Afraid of being seen as null,
Insignificant and dull
not in place and out of frame.

Cause in comparison it fails,
in every magnitude of scales.
Even beginning to compare,
to be frank it is not fair.
Every time your force prevails.

So unwillingly in surrender,
through all species and each gender.
It admits that your allure,
and your power to endure.
Will forever overthrow her.
