On your knees seeking answers

and whose deeds are immemorial

After days, weeks, month, and years
Of staying faithfully in line.
Time is how long your testimony lasts
and how long it took for you to smile.

Time is God resting on the seventh day
Because he knows there's a time for everything
Time is a divine hourglass of grace
That keeps turning your burden to blessing
Because even in your moment of weakness
God's love for you remains everlasting.

Time is Jesus rising after three days
A great miracle that gave us life
Time is the distance
Between God being a pillar of cloud in the day
And a pillar of fire in the night
Yes, time is the essence of all things godly
all things noble, and all things right.
Time is right, and we ought to use it so.
Because in that rightness
Lies the true essence of time
