Light
grace gravity packs pigment pills
Dust
raised moss beds musty leaves and air
Cold
walking from a separation
Warm
union of your field and my feels
Clouds
conformity choked out our voice
Life
birds chirped for pleasure and purpose
Rise
a coffee and conversation
Rest
cozy full moon meditation
The construct for this poem focuses on the value of identity. Identity of each individual in a relationship and the identity that forms when the two identities coalesce.
I used the sun as a good metaphor for what is known about identity and the moon for what is felt and what is unknown. The sun and moon both traverse for 180 degrees from the perspective of a human so I used the syllabic pattern 1-8 for the entire poem. Each stanza explores the theme from each human sense.
