Love...

in #poetry6 years ago

Love is...

not an affair,
short lived to be...
but a foundation,
from which longevity of growth
may proceed...

not fraught with insecurity,
sending us through highs & lows...
but the solid ground,
on which we may progress in our journey,
supported in a steady flow of giving & receiving...

not an infatuation,
superficially based in illusion...
but a sincere appreciation,
through which the synergy of souls,
miracles occur...

not tainted by fear or resentment,
carrying us into dark emotional depths...
but the genuine contentment,
of which peace & harmony are birthed from,
blessed out of our worth to accept well-being...

Love makes us stronger...

not completing us,
but allowing us to recognize & choose
our own completion...

not fulfilling us,
but enabling us to sense & embrace
our inherent fulfillment...

not the cause of our wholeness,
but a catalyst for the remembering & appreciating
of our ability to create
as a whole being...

Love makes us smile...

not out of the euphoria of praise,
delighting in the high of receiving admiration...
but in the spirit of gratitude,
sharing our path with those we choose
for the light they shine...

not with expectation of return,
glowing in hopes of approval...
but without need or desire,
contributing our radiance to enrich our partners,
as a reflection of their divinity...

Love can wait...

not evoking impatience,
but transcending distance & time,
infused with certainty...

not invoking depression,
but centering us in abundance,
contented with our gifts...

not stirring up restlessness,
but generating serenity,
bestowed with patience...

building gleeful anticipation,
while present
to the essence of what is...

developing grounded excitement,
though absent
of the delusions of expectations...

Love inspires...

not as a source of validation,
but its grandness relieving our deprivation of
a channel for our passion...

not of necessity to cover our wounds,
but its warmth triumphing the cold in solitude,
returning us to the paths of collaborative empowerment...

Love makes us better people...

bringing out our best,
unearthing the gems in our "worst;"
driving us to excel in our endeavors,
making proud those who believed;
striving for greatness of character,
and choosing to embody our ideals...

not for an affirmation
of reliance upon external fulfillment,
but its bountifulness drawing our focus
back to the inner wealth
at root of our happiness...

Love helps us mature,
moving beyond preoccupation with inadequacies,
arriving in confidence in competencies;
leaving behind childish ways,
while returning to graceful playfulness;
forgetting our wrongs,
and committing to living our virtues...

Without love,
what do we have,
but the hope of its discovery -
wandering aimlessly,
until we are blessed with the gift of
seeing what is really most important...

Without love,
how can we know
the force binding all together -
buying into temptations of the ego,
until we are bestowed with the vision
to perceive the only one thing able
to motivate us through the maze
of the material world...

In thanks,
we open
to the pleasures we seek;
free to be ourselves,
in the comfort of gentle arms -
home -
no matter where we may be...

In love,
we close the doors
on the pain of our pasts;
liberating ourselves,
to explore the beauty in & around -
heaven -
here on earth, for us in to rejoice...

I like the way you approach this poem. Love is not... Love is not intimidation, sadness, hurting the other, it is not loneliness. Love cannot be barriers, cages or locks. Neither can love make weight, be individual, be selfish, be treacherous. Because love is windows and fresh air, it is a warm word in winter nights, it is a look that says a lot in the middle of silence. Love is peace, joy, serenity within. Love is like coming home and knowing that someone is waiting for you with open arms. Love is the force that moves people and the whole universe, @rok-sivante!

You have presented the definition of love in such a detailed manner that we had never seen it in such a state before.

When something goes wrong when you find it difficult, then you should join me, my God.

Love make me cry 😅

Ahahahhaha you dont need to

@rok-sivante you have said it all about love.

I will add this one. Love is been there for somebody in good and bad times.

Dear sir!
The word love is a divine feeling, which we can not express in words. The cornerstone of faith is. Love is an unqualified aspect, which everyone wants to realize physical attraction can not be love.
Love is the union of two souls with which emotions, affection, attachment and dedication are connected. it is itself a complete word. thanks sir for such a good theme.

Over-exalted, lavish, idolized, idyllic, euphoric, over-the-top. Although, having said all that, it captures a typical moment of innocence in all it's fullness. Like they say, love is blind. Is this the first time you published this poem of yours?

It’s a repost from over 8 years ago.
