Things You Casually Hear On a Bus
Kont intiha daqqtejn bil-basket
u intajjarah ġol-ħajt
I would've hit her with my purse
and thrown her into the wall.
Inspiration
The poem is a direct quote (in Maltese) over something I heard someone say. The Maltese people can be so colourful with language that I did not have to accentuate anything.
I chose this poem as the first micropoem post in a while as a nod to my previous collection, From the Backseat of a Bus (2019). I have a set of micropoems planned, with one post weekly. I will be announcing the theme in the coming days.
