promises shattered,
blistered knuckles,
cracks of sunlight,
they all appear at once.

so the universe objects,
he’s never on our side,
who would dare to trust
such a friend anyway?

we lay here again,
your scars spill out,
and my hair’s in bundles,
but you still search for my eyes.

it’s past midnight now,
the horizon is shrinking,
everything is collapsing,
then suddenly you’re dust.

ploy.
