The Sun, The Rain And The Daily Dance of Nature: A Poem In Pictures

in #poetry8 years ago

We had a sunny day and a shower so brief, the ground dried up in seconds while the drops on the leaves remained, and then, out came the butterflies.....

All photos have been touched-up using GIMP, scaled in size and taken with my

“‘Is the spring coming?’ he said. ‘What is it like?’ …
‘It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine,
and things pushing up and working under the earth.’”
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

“Hundreds of butterflies flitted in and out of sight like short-lived punctuation marks in a stream of consciousness without beginning or end.”
Haruki Murakami, 1Q84

“I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.”
William Shakespeare

“Butterflies are not insects,' Captain John Sterling said soberly.
'They are self-propelled flowers.”
Robert A. Heinlein, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls
