Daddy Told Me (ST 5)

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

Daddy Told me to be careful girls won't lead you safely
Told me to be honest lies will one day surface
He Said when am grown I will see life differently,
Am 23 now, it's like another puberty

Daddy said he won't leave me even if he is dead
He said have a sound mind, on that big head
Hold close to the Bible like a rifle on ahead
Walk around with your head up, go ahead

Daddy said am more of a man than a kid
He saw it, what I could do with this gift
But am more interested in this, than what I miss
A plump girl with nice tits that can kiss

Daddy said he I shouldn't tell mommy
said the secret to a happy married is tolerance and that brings harmony
Don't go for Beauty that shit fades soon
Go for the best and see your life bloom

Daddy said that I talk to much
I said how can I close my mouth when I have a lot to say
He laughed and asked how many times do you pray
I bent down and felt ashamed

It touched me cuz the truth wasn't far fetched
But if it's a picture I swear I lack the ink to draw fair sketch
Upset by this me being broke
He said that's cuz you don't need money yo

In my mind I frowned and he saw it,
say when it's time nature will pay you, through lyrics
Guess that's why I found steemit
Feel the pressure but don't lose it

Daddy said am grown now hold you own now
Don't let anyone that breathes, make you feel down
what Daddy Told me. love in his eyes as a man
He told me don't just live life down live with a plan
