You and I - Original

Have you ever danced among the seas,
Or seen sound stroll on by?
Have you ever heard a tale from the colors,
Or felt your own shadow?
Have you ever swam among the stars,
Or drank the light from the sun?

Only those who have been freed have tasted that joy.
A world of surreal, defined by no logic,
No man’s creation,
But the creator of man.
Oh the honor!
Only those who have, have lived.

Before I was confined to this world,
Obeying its laws,
And conforming to its ways.
Bound to the earth, I absorbed myself with it,
Let it consume me.
I had resigned myself to this fate.

But you told me of another way,
You guided me out of myself,
And showed me the impossible.
Now I swim, hear, taste, see, drink and dance,
All because you are at my side.
Now I am alive.

Come, let us dance in the ocean,
Watch the sound run wild,
Listen to the legends of color,
Hold our shadows in our hands,
Swim in the midst of stars,
And drink the rays from the sun.

Come, let us live, you and I.
