if your mind were a jungle
would we be walking through your past
the well-worn path of mistakes
and memories too painful to be forgotten

would we lose ourselves
within every step and find
that inevitable future
you only share in your
dreams

where fate
mixes with the blood of the soil
and you’re building that forever home.

so distant from the stars
buried deep within your heart.

i’ll find you in the moments
of peace
the simple oasis
where the light peeks through
