Freality - Poetry to remind us of our home

Remember the days
When the earth was young?
Remember all of the ways
In which we sang her songs?

We respected the air
And we loved the sky
We danced around fire
We slept on the earth, we admired.

Why did we manufacture ourselves
Into cubicles and money wells
Away from morning mist
And ocean swells

To carve our names on city streets
And apartment blocks
But most of us just circle dirt
And yield our rust

In God We Trust
But yet we know Him not
We like the idea of success
We live and die to be the best

And when one falls down beside the road
We slow not even a single toe
Time is money, money is life
On natures tomb we'll inscribe our rights

Forgetting all she freely gave
Build another heirloom on her grave
We look not back
We feel nothing
We do not seize
Control this thing

With devils wings
And tretch'rous teeth
We show no signs of being weak
Apologise, you're blood I'll eat

And yet the hole grows ever deep
Tonight you sleep, today you reap
Tomorrow we will fear what we have done
Through tears of blood what we've become

Fear not yet, it's not too late
To stop the closing of the gate
Before we shut away our Eden
Spare a thought for what we're breathing

Simplify your lives my friends
Let your footprints leave no dents
Sometimes we know not the end
Our lives to live and not to spend

These words are from a concerned Heart and a Lover of nature.
It speaks of many truths. Money being "Our Life" is a painful reality.

We live and die for the bestroald-dahl-life-quote.jpg

Greed and apathy is killing our planet and killing us. We have our own gods to serve that we cannot see eye to eye. We need to act now. Every small and simple action matters.

Powerful words and such an eye opener.
