IS BEING BLACK A CURSE?

in #poetry7 years ago

I can't look at my skin and find hope..
I can't look at this race and not find nake children..
I can't look at our black soil and not find blood of innocent soul..
I can't look at our faces and not find misery.

Is being black a curse..?
Or is it worse.?
I can't look at the savannah lands..
And not see men living in caves..
I can't look at the water we drink..
And not find an animal dung..
I cant look at our heart..
And not find hatred in diversity

Is being black a curse..?
I cant look at the women..
And not find any molested and raped..
I cant look at the streets..
And not find hungry children..
I can't look at somalia..
And not get nostalgia.

Is being black a curse..?
I can't look at south africa and not find, drug and illicit sex..
I cant look at Nigeria..
And not find inhumane killings..
I can't look at Ghana and not find pornography..
I can't look at somalia..
And not find poverty..
I can't look to my skin..
And find any rays of light.

Is being black a curse?
