ALTER EGO

Hello friends, so this morning when i woke up,i felt strange and was lost in my own thoughts. I then decided to express myself in words. Hope someone relates.

ALTER EGO
Do you see him?
The other I
He's there, I mean here
You just have to look closely
He's behind the curtains,waiting to steal my show
Two captains one boat
Two cook trying not to spoil the broth- SHALL WE BEGIN?

Do you hear him?
I know you can't
But he's there I mean here
He whispers, the unheard voices
He hides in the mask of SUBCONSCIOUS, CONSCIENCE, INTUITION
trying so hard to push me into submission.

Denying he's existence, is denying my own name.
He's Paul and I am peter.
He's there I mean here
U just have to listen.

We are one man
But my life's split
I tried so hard not to slip
Never to let the beast of his lease
But I can't deny him
He's there,I mean here
We tried making our existence work
We switched in and out,depending on the circumstance
My mind became a slave serving two masters
Soon my mind grew weary
The boat started sinking
The broth became bitter
Paul started robbing dear old pete

I had to put him down
Sent back to his cage
He's mad in rage
He ask for a page in our book
But its been age
He's loud voice became whispers
Days past and the whisper fade

It's been three months now, I've been alone and it's blissful
Two months now,life has been boring and normal and that's Good
For one month now, I've been hearing it but I've refuse to believe
He's in my altar tryna let go.
I call it ALTER EGO
I looked at my reflection and it smiled back
Last night, I heard it again
Two word; Miss me???
