If that will work with me, you’ll have to pray
I’ll admit you’re a beautiful girl and yes, you slay
But my heart is not something I’ll use to play
For me, out of sight is out of mind
It does not mean that I am unkind
For deep inside me, extreme care you will find
But the one who had my heart last left a broken heart behind
I gave her everything I had and more
She was the prettiest thing you ever saw
And I loved her from within my core
But she left me and gave my heart a sore
I swear, I really want to fall in love again
But the few pieces of my heart, I wish to retain
So unconsciously, from falling in love, I try to abstain
For another disaster, I doubt I can contain.
