To be respected
To not be addressed as a sexual being
To be seen beyond my body
To not be abused
To have a voice
To have a choice
To not have to prove to live
To not have to be aggressive before I am seen as a whole human being
To not have to fight to have a right
Am Beautiful
I don’t need to make a whole poem about it
I am just beautiful
But not the type of beautiful you are accustomed to
I am beautiful in a way that confuses you and provokes you at the same time
I don’t fit your standard of beauty
I am that shut-your-mouth-as-I-speak kinda beautiful
I am that I-intimidate-you kinda beautiful
I am the she-shouldn’t-be-beautiful kinda beautiful
On that note, I am bomb ass kinda beautiful
