Jumper was a little white pup.
Before he could walk, he liked to jump up.
He'd bounce over brothers,
Spring over sisters,
Pounce on his parents,
It gave him blisters!
Jumper would jump, whenever he could.
When Jumper would jump, he was up to no good.
He’d hop on the couch, sit in a seat.
Caper the counters and steal the meat.
It didn’t take long for people to appear.
Jump’s family thinned, he started to fear.
His siblings were starting to get removed,
Poor little Jump didn't know what to do.
Jumper’s sisters and brothers had found new homes.
He was sad, and almost alone.
He missed his siblings, but had his mom,
So he would follow her around all day long.
Their owner May watched the two.
She felt bad for jump, but knew what to do.
Her cousin’s birthday was coming up.
So she’d give him the little white pup.
Ben didn’t have many friends
Living in the country with farms and dead ends.
He was kinda short, a little thin.
Wild hair, and his shirt tucked in.
When they met they instantly clicked.
Jumper went wild for his new kid.
Jump was adventurous, always on the go,
But Ben was not, adventure he didn’t know.
He is a boy who's shy and quiet,
But if jumper would do it Ben would try it!
The two of them got along so well.
Jumper was there whenever Ben fell.
The pair of them would play all day.
Jump over fences, and into the hay.
The two were inseparable,
Impossible to part.
When one would get going, both would start.
In the morning while Ben brushed his teeth.
Jumper would dance on two of his feet.
Bouncing around in front of the mirror
The bond between them was crystal clear.
Down to the kitchen the two of them go.
Where Mom's in her apron, mixing the dough.
“Morning” she says to the boys,
Don't forget breakfast, before your toys.
Ben’s at the table for his bacon, and eggs.
Jump leaps out the door, to stretch his legs.
He runs for a minute, then it's straight to the chow!
As soon as they’re finished, it's fun time now.
They hop out the door, into the yard.
Jumper with grace but Ben trips, hard.
Jump's right there to cheer Ben up.
Ben loves his little white pup!
He gets up, and brushes off,
Then races jump past the loft.
Ben runs as hard as he can,
But jumpers faster than any man.
He’s up on the bails,
High-jumping rails,
Flying over posts,
Giving his most!
Waiting for Ben out past the loft.
Jumper laid in the grass so soft.
As Ben came close Jump sprang to action!
His boy beamed with satisfaction.
They raced around for a while
It gave them both a big smile,
But it’s hard on a boy
When your pup’s full of joy.
Home they go for the night.
Where Ben can brush his teeth,
Get tucked in, turn off the light,
And get a good long sleep.
Our friends are now in for the night
So for now we say
Sweet dreams, and sleep tight......
I'd love some feedback from parents/kids. Thanks everyone for reading :)
