I think( this is my personal opinion please don't take it seriously ) no one knows what will born? child could be a son or a daughter. If i am right the name of you poem you could keep 'Our Child'

Yes, you are right, of course. I considered revising it to apply to either a male or female child, but this was the version I was inspired to create originally (many years ago), so I decided to leave it alone. I do agree with you that the message could absolutely apply to a female child.
