That is definitely true. I was grateful that, even though we didn't have much materially, my brother and I were raised in a kind of a bubble, my parents shielded us from their day-to-day worries. As an adult I've learned how sometimes they didn't have enough money for food or didn't know where they would get the money for the mortgage payment yet I don't remember any of that struggle.
