Wonderful poem, Scott. I can feel the time you put into it. For me the circus in this piece is a metaphor for life itself -- all of the sacrifices, how it tests us, the compromise, the lies we tell ourselves, the plotting, how we learn from others we meet and their different perspectives, and then how quickly it's all gone.
