studying the shapes
of the clouds as they drift
past my smudged window,
to remember exactly
how it felt to be
on top of the world.
as I realize the universe,
it makes no mistakes.
is the perfect lesson,
in the perfect season.
to be read.

Fantastic work, here. You shift perspective rather well and the reader is certainly drawn in. That whole top of the world thing got me thinking. The world is a globe and there is no top really ... well Everest but the air is rather thin up there. LOL. It's all about perspective, isn't. Something most of us don't achieve until time has passed. Again, fantastic write.

Yes, I try to always remember how valuable our time is. When you're young you feel as though you'll live forever but as you approach middle age you realize that's not the case. Thanks!
I agree; since turning 40 (4 years ago) Time & its finiteness have been very much on my mind, too.
I feel, somehow, that the free pass granted youth, of Unconscious Living, is slowly being revoked, now. Every moment counts more!
