Fetching Us From Where We Fall (Original Poem)

in #poetry5 years ago (edited)

Here we are
adrift...
in a maze
of narrow opinions,
everyone so
quick to whip out
their ragged flags
to wave.

Hurling headlong
into the breach
of the day,
we see the horrors
of how quickly
life can turn,

but just as easily
the winds
can rush
into the void
of our
empty spaces
and our
lonesome hours,
blowing away
the tangle of
our problems,

stripping us
of all
uncertainties,
fetching us
from where we fall.

How life changes overnight, that's for sure. You can’t say better. An excellent verse.

Yes, indeed. Thank you!

Perfectly balanced for today's scenario of the world :)

Hello dear friend @ericvancewalton. I admire the gift you have to write poetry, you always make compositions full of feelings.
I wish you a great week

Thank you. I hope you have a great week as well!

Hello Eric, .. I enjoy reading your poem ... even though there is anxiety about the current state of being down ... I can feel the atmosphere of unhappiness there, but rest assured someday will pass. Time continues to spin .. Have a nice day, sir .

Thank you Eliana. I hope you're having a wonderful week!

sense of calmness when I read it, realy good one Eric!

Thank you, Oz! I'm glad it had that effect. I was thinking about how the good times and bad times are beyond our control to a large extent and how they're transitory.

Great job! As always, very thought provoking and emotive. A joy to read! :)

Thank you very much @bozz! I hope you had a good weekend!

It's great and easy to learn!
