Not another one.

Yes, another one! Here I am (yet again) to ensnare, delight, and entangle you all in the mess of words that is my poetry. This is a small collection of short poems designed to instil a sort of ‘dognitive cissonance’ within the reader – they’re also quite amusing, y’know, if you're one of those people that enjoys laughing.

Brushing off the dust.

As I have said in my previous poetic endeavour, these small sets of poems are nothing new, merely a catalogued selection of older, dustier poems; so wind yourselves up, take a deep breath in, and prepare to cough and choke on my antiquated poetry.

Musings of a mad-man.

As I was sitting in my chair,
I knew the bottom wasn't there.
No legs, nor back, but still I sat -
Ignoring little things like that.

There is a man who waits for none.
Yet still, he waits and waits for one.
I am that man I never saw,
Whatever am I waiting for?

I have this pen I hold in hand.
No ink, nor nib, it's rather bland.
I cannot write, nor can I spell,
But use this pen I think I shall.

"Hello," I say to say "goodbye".
Forever I'll stay - today I die.
Eager to wait, patience I hate;
It's not like death to be this late.

You’re not very good.

Well, I agree - these are not masterpieces, they should be considered an amusing exercise at the most, and I implore anyone of you as a poet, writer, or lyricist, to try this exercise out.

Nevertheless, I hope you have enjoyed this short read, you’re more than welcome to take a look at my previous work (see below) and, in any case, have a very splendid day.

Speak soon,
Dan

Who are you?

Sort:

You're inspiring me to dust off my old boxes of poems and lyrics and senseless chattering...

And perhaps even start to write anew. Although, my new material would probably be about changing diapers, chicken poop and piles of snow!! Lol!

I will always (always) promote creativity. Do it, it doesn't matter what it's about, you could write 'found' poetry about the day to day living of a mother - people love this kind of stuff because it's relatable.

Do it! :)

Well, I haven't had time to write anything new, what with all the diaper changes, chicken poop and snow, but you inspired me to at least something that's been laying around collecting dust for nearly 2 decades! Thank you! https://steemit.com/dsound/@crowbarmama/20180322t084705877z-crocodile-tears

I like the ambivalancy. Points us to the contradiction of thoughts that rambles in the mind of the incomprehensible and yet shows us how such a confused mind could ponder over such meaningful thoughts. Keep it up and i expect to see more of this.
