THIS IS THE CONTINUATION OF A FULL-LENGTH POEM I RECENTLY COMPLETED. I WILL BE SHARING ALL HERE ON STEEMIT. thanks for reading:
—Help this heart
Your own self created so!
Help dear Lord!
For in her eyes
I see the brightest light,
Bright even as ‘the light of the world’.
Whosoever shall follow thee
Shall know no darkness,
But I follow thee,
Silently,
And I leave her beyond,
And my life knows naught
But baptized by sadness.
Help dear Lord!
Help make this right!
Well tonight,
Hannah got answered
That which Hannah prayed.
And when tomorrow morning
She saw her she said;
—Dearest one,
By night you’ll find your light,
And by day you’ll know your way.
For where can a blind man—
or woman—lead,
But here and there and all where
Any where and no where,
And finally to stray,
To such dreary places called astray.
—And who can a frail one shield,
But one who craves
Her own head on a tray,
And her bosom,
In the bosom of the lord to lay.
