Our innocence and freedom was robbed during our slumber
These monstrous thieves came to disturb the silence and inflict chaos
For these monsters heart are not as pure as ours
Their eyes scream violence and hatred
Some of us woke up as orphans
For our mothers were taken for sinful pleasures
Our fathers were forced to join the rebellion and those who resisted were beheaded
And some of us never even got a chance to see the sun rise at all
We are deprived from education
For where our schools once stood; were replaced by rubbles and shards of glass
We are deprived from childhood
For the streets once used for play, are now full of fallen soldiers and bloody terrorists
We are famished
We are dehydrated
For all that is left are bombed buildings, barren vegetation and contaminated rivers
Yet we are hopeful that one day all of this would just end, cause all nightmares do
We will rise from the ashes like a phoenix reborn
We will make this country peaceful and full of audible laughter again
We will liberate this country from monstrous thieves
For we, the Filipino children are the last hope

It truly depicted the corruption in the government. It should be replaced instead with love of country and patriotism then I can say that we are fit to live and succeed as true Filipinos.
Nice piece dear.... :)
👍👍👍 we are really the hope of the future 👍👍👍
Omg, this is so touching. I can relate
What an awesome poem @churchgaldiaries. I can also relate, as I think most countries can. Upvoted, shared with social media, and will re-steem latter.
