My Arrival

in #poetry7 years ago

From the womb I kicked, I boxed, I screamed

All in a hurry to jump out,

Into an unknown world,

Were I would not be confined into an infinitesimal space.

As I kicked, my mother screamed in throes of pain

And out of her agony I came forth.

I came forth into this world with a loud cry,

To indicate my arrival, out poured incoherent words.

From those surrounding me

When I looked into their eyes,

I saw joy, a joy in contrast to the despair

And anguish they felt when I was being transmitted,

From the little cavern into the mighty open

Now here i am,

to make this world a better place,

to make my mum proud

to imprint my name on the sands of time
