My little poem.

These days, I have been trying out my hands at poetry (if it can really be called that). Below is a short one I wrote. Most esteemed steemians, please, give me your opinions.
Though I write from my heart, I know not what to say
The average people might say a Dragon for you I'll slay
But you need that not as your life is as beautiful as day
You're everything my mother warned me about
But with you, I've got the negligence of a tout
Against her warnings, I stand tall and bold
As I fear to lose you, "My Gold"
Any other words, my brain seems to withhold
So, let your dreams take flight
As I wish you a blissful night.
