He hangs on a hanging leaf,
Or sometimes sit in silence
No green grass on the raised head.
Sometimes as a dewdrop, on a sheaf of rice.
Or in a lotus leaf floating in water,
Or a fluttering flower.
Wherever he is, whatever he is,
His memory remains in the eyes of a fascinated poet.
To be moved in the gentle wind,
At one point he fell down,
Or it disappears into the air in the heat.
How short is his life,
But how long
His memory leaves a shadow in people's minds!
Main theme: Any beauty in the world enlivens the human mind. The permanence of that beauty may be short-lived, but its effect on the human mind is lasting.
