A wooden arbor is a type of arch that people often grow grapes, hops etc. across the top of. Some Arbors are flat and some are arched. Some are a complete semi circle! Wooden arbors are very beautiful. Sometimes they are featured in outdoor sites that people get married and the couple passes under them.
Here are my grape vines that I showed everyone yesterday in my introduction blog. You can see they are falling over into my neighbors yard. I like the neighbors, but not enough to give them all my grapes! Therefore I am building a wooden arbor in order to drag them over into my yard and also spread them out to grow better [right now they are growing into other plants and falling over the fence like previously mentioned].
As you can see, this is NOT something professional looking [at first], but rather a DIY project that will cause much more [quality] grapes and hops! This is going to be some serious space saving and sun optimization! I made the stakes stick up higher than the fence for obvious reason. Point those beautiful grapes right at the sun!
Wow! I love how the project is going already! Tomorrow, will probably place more wooden stakes into the ground and also tie more vines to the Arbor [time permitting]! I must say, the hops and grapes bushes looks much better already. It felt so great to slowly pull the plants back onto my property.
I hope you enjoyed blog #2.
Tomorrow I may do some more work. The weather is getting hotter here, so I probably won't plant anything more outdoors. Rather this will be a time to watch the plants grow very large! I will do some feedings of things like Epsom salts and also water very carefully [more on that later]. I hope you all have a blessed day and enjoy the garden!
